The short version
This site uses essential cookies and similar browser storage to remember your accessibility and theme preferences, plus a small set of analytics cookies set by Microsoft Clarity so Kaz can see which pages confuse visitors. No advertising pixels. No cross-site retargeting. Opt-out paths are listed at the bottom of this page.
What's stored, and why

|---|---|---|---|
kaz-theme | localStorage | Remembers Light / Dark / Auto theme choice from the accessibility panel. | Until cleared |
kaz-font-size | localStorage | Remembers preferred text size (14, 17, 19, or 22 px). | Until cleared |
kaz-high-contrast | localStorage | Remembers high-contrast accessibility setting. | Until cleared |
kaz-reduce-motion | localStorage | Remembers reduced-motion accessibility setting. | Until cleared |
kaz-highlight-links | localStorage | Remembers link-highlight accessibility setting. | Until cleared |
kaz-cookie-ack | localStorage | Remembers that you dismissed the cookie banner. | Until cleared |
All of the above are first-party, never shared, never read by any third party, and never used for advertising.
Analytics — Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity (project ID wtdc95khdn) sets a small set of cookies and storage entries to track aggregated usage patterns and session recordings. The recordings mask all form input contents and password fields by default.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_clck | clarity.ms | Persistent visitor identifier for Clarity analytics. | 1 year |
_clsk | clarity.ms | Session identifier for Clarity heatmap and session recording. | 1 day |
CLID | clarity.ms | Persistent user ID for Microsoft Clarity, used by Microsoft to correlate sessions across Clarity-instrumented sites you visit. | 1 year |
MR, MUID, SM, ANONCHK | bing.com / clarity.ms | Auxiliary Microsoft analytics cookies. May be set depending on Clarity configuration. | Up to 1 year |
Clarity data is processed by Microsoft under Microsoft's Privacy Statement. We use Clarity only to understand which pages confuse visitors and which links get clicked. We do not export Clarity data to advertising platforms.

How to opt out
Opt out of Microsoft Clarity on this site

Regulatory framing
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, our essential cookies fall under the "strictly necessary" exemption. Analytics cookies (Clarity) are non-essential. EU visitors who have not consented to analytics should use the browser-level opt-out paths above; we are working on a true opt-in toggle in the cookie banner.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA), Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise your access, correction, deletion, or opt-out rights, see the privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
We will update the "last updated" date when this policy changes. Material changes (new analytics tools, new cookies, new third-party processors) will be surfaced on the homepage for at least 14 days.
